You know what I find somewhat interesting? How quickly moods can change. I mean, how one can go from being seemingly happy and fine with everything to wanting to cry their eyes out within the space of a minute or so.
That's what I have found anyway, especially in the past couple of days.
During the day at uni, I am all good. I am in classes, trying to learn, or trying to stay awake in the case of PSYC1040 (Research Methods & Statistics 1...). During breaks I usually see a couple of my friends, eat some lunch, go study in the library and after all my classes, I go home. I feel pretty good during the day, albeit usually tired. Then, once I get on the bus or train, my mood just... plummets. Especially the train, lately. It seems like, when I am around others, I can feel OK, but once I am left alone with my own thoughts, everything that has been upsetting me lately just pops into my head and doesn't leave until I'm surrounded by other people and activities.
I guess it's the fact that being at university, around people and learning distracts my mind but when I am alone, there is nothing to distract me.
So, there are a couple of things that have happened in my life in the past month or two that have been... hard to deal with and those are the things that have been jumping into my mind several times a day. When I think about it, the only word I can use to describe it is 'haunting'. Sounds kinda creepy... But, it feels like these things are haunting me. Especially one thing. It feels like this... 'person' is haunting me and will not leave me alone. I feel like the only thing that will get rid of it is some sort of closure, but I have no clue how to get that.
On Sunday I got some kind of closure about another that has been upsetting me and that isn't worrying me as much. It is still upsetting, but I am feeling better about it and trying to think that it will be OK.
I got some sort of closure about another thing on Friday and am slowly getting better in that regard.
That just leaves one thing...
I've told my mum about these things upsetting me and how I'm sick of feeling sad about them and how I feel I shouldn't still upset about them and she has told me that it's OK to be sad.
I mean, I know that, but there's a difference between not thinking it's OK to be sad and just being sick of it. I'm over it and do not know how I can get this stuff to stop haunting my mind.
----------------------------------------END DEPRESSING POST----------------------------------------------
So, I have finally found a new anime that I am really into and am slowly catching up with, which is really cool. It is called Ano Natsu de Matteru (Waiting in the Summer) and it is about a group of friends who meet a new girl and her strange friend and decide to film a movie together. The main guy has obvious feelings for the new girl who begins living with him but it turns out she is an alien, though no one knows yet (I've only seen 4 episodes). It is actually quite good and really quite funny. Also... LOVE TRIANGLES FTW, yo. I needed a romance-y anime, since the only other one I've been watching lately is Another which is horror.
OH! I forgot about Chihayafuru... I'm so behind in that. Even though I didn't love it, I feel like I need to finish it, even though I have my own ideas on how it will end... It's probably finished by now. Whoops.
Just checked and it's not finished yet, haha.
Well, I think I have to go cook risotto now... Mmm. Hopefully it is good :)
-------------------------------------------------MUCH LATER-------------------------------------------------------
My risotto was delicious :) I'm off to bed now as tomorrow I must arise for church and then go out for lunch to celebrate my grandmother's 82nd or 83rd (I keep forgetting) birthday :)
... And then come home and study *sigh*

There's A Giant Rubber Duck In The River
I have had a surprisingly great day. I shall, therefore, outline it for all of you, despite your lack of interest in my daily life.
I woke up, lying in my dark bedroom covered in my doona listening to a wild storm raging outside my window. It was lovely. Due to the darkness and the fact that it, like, never storms at this time in the morning, I assumed it must have been like 2 or 3am and I could, therefore, go back to sleep for another 4 or so hours. I checked my iPod to find that it was 7:13 and I only had 17 minutes left to sleep, so I immediately tried to make the most of those 17 minutes. What seemed like only 5 minutes went by before my dad came and woke me up. I had a slow morning before leaving to go to my flute ensemble rehearsal, which was good and ran smoothly.
I then head over to the State Library. Now, usually, I have some assignment to do, or research to do. For the past month, I had read my English Extension book, The House of Mirth, in the library, or I did research for ExtEng or MusExt. But, as of yesterday, when I handed in my final assignments for both of those subjects, I know longer have to do them. I had no homework and no assignments yet, as it isonly the end of the first week of term, so I took the laptop and sat in the library snacking on sultanas (I usually do this. They are a good substitute for lollies...), scrolling through Tumblr, reading about anime and watching How I Met Your Mother, before Phantomess arrived. We were both wearing our senior jerseys, due to the cold rain outside, so it was quite amusing.
We then went to the food shops and I ate a spring roll before we went to our symphonic wind ensemble rehearsal. Now, it has been painful for me to play saxophone lately, since my wisdom teeth were removed. It was painful today, but bearable. The rehearsal was decent. Nothing great, but not bad. The usual, I suppose.
On the trip home, my dad and I drove past the city's big river and, believe it or not, there was a giant rubber duck just sitting there in the river. I stated this (exactly like the title of this post) and he simply replied, with some laughter, "There is." That was the end of the conversation. We both looked at it a bit, though. I mean, what can you say about something like that?
I came home to eat some ice cream with strawberries and scroll through some more Tumblr. Awhile later, I grabbed some BBQ flavoured Shapes, the jar of Vegemite and a glass of iced juice and went back to room. I just spent the last... hour to hour-and-a-half watching How I Met Your Mother while dipping Shapes in Vegemite. This is the life, guys. I mean, I should do some flute practice later, but that's it. I have nothing else I have to do. Isn't it amazing?
And, I have finally made a choice about uni. Now, it could change, but I don't think it'll change to much. I really hope I don't change my mind anymore, anyway. It's happened too many times already. As of now, I will be studying a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology and Japanese for the next three years, at the uni that several of my friends are going to. Now, I don't want to go here solely because my friends are. I want to make new friends. I want to break out from my shell a bit. It'll be terrifying for me, but once I do it, I'll feel amazingly proud and like I can conquer the world, or something. I know, for many people saying "Hey, I'm *insert name here*, how are you?" is simple, but for me, it's terrifying. No, petrifying. Anyway, knowing that White Ribbon, Phantomess, Tenuto Tuo and even nath_alex01 (though I doubt we'll see each other as much as the others) are there will be so comforting. And, heck, I am seriously planning on finding some way to go visit Gojo or meet up somewhere, cause I ain't losing that gurl (I dunno. That's how I said it in my head) just because she goes to a different uni.
Now, you may be saying, "Japanese? I thought you loved Spanish?" I do, I really do. But I really like Japanese and the Japanese culture as well. I looked at the course lists for both and I swear, despite the fact that this doesn't make a lot of sense, the Japanese course sounds a whole lot less intense and scary than the Spanish one. I still intend to learn Spanish sometime in the not-too-distant future, I really do. I promise myself I will learn it and I have several other ideas of how I might do it, already. I will learn it.
I'm actually getting re-excited for uni. I know that really soon I'll be terrified and all, "I DON'T WANNA GO!!" again, but for now, it's good to feel OK about it.
Since I did an epic clean up of my room in the first week of my holidays, I've hated having it even slightly messy. I mean, the laptop bag on the floor is bugging me, along with the notebook, sticky notes (which are there for good reason. I am forgetful), iPod, panadol, Shapes box, Vegemite jar, empty glass and empty water bottle on my desk next to me are annoying me. As is the handbag on my laundry basket. Hm. I think I need to do a cleanup. I also haven't liked going to bed if stuff is lying around on my desk or floor. I find myself needing to do a 2-minute clean-up before I can go to bed.
I'm going to do a quick clean-up now...
Just had fried rice while watching Total Drama World Tour and trying to hide my fangirling from my dad... Anyway, a great day I have had.
Tomorrow may not be quite as relaxing, but it sure as heck won't be stressful.
I'll just chill out and watch a little anime, maybe some more How I Met Your Mother, maybe some flute practice. Who knows? I have around 2 hours before I'll be so unbearably tired.
Listening to catchy Japanese music from Special A is making me pumped for learning this language. And... I would love if I could go there for Study Abroad. Or Canada. Or anywhere in the UK. Mainly Ireland. Japan, Canada or Ireland would be great, thanks :)
Wow. It's only 8:30 and I am already so tired. Ugh, I don't want to go to sleep yet. I want to watch anime, for goodness sake.
So. Sleepy.
Well, farewell, y'all. I have nothing left to say.

27th-3rd June/July 2011
Behold my anime collage on the back of my bedroom door. Now, you may see a Total Drama picture on there.. I should explain that. Basically, I was printing pictures out to put on my school books and I accidentally printed out two pictures of the Total Drama one, the big L, the InuYasha and Sesshomaru one and the Kyo one... I was all, "Hey. I'll put these on my door, cause it looks boring," and I just added to it. I COULD take down the Total Drama one, since it isn't anime, but whatever. Now, all animes have two pictures up there. My three favourites, however, have three pictures, being Fruits Basket, Kaichou wa Maid-Sama and Ano Hana. Anyway, this is this week's picture as I have been away this week, from Monday to Thursday and watched no anime, making me realise how much I rely on it to keep me calm and sane.. It's sad, but true :)

Garbage Disposal Is Becoming So Gay
So, I am pretty much 100% over-the-moon ecstatic right now. I have FINALLY finished all of my assessment! WHOOP! Par-tay time. LOLjks Imma watch anime.
So, my brother came into my room and told me he wanted to show me something "cool" and that I had to come with him to the shower. I did and, once we arrived, he crouched on the ground and pointed towards the corner, saying, "Look at that! Doesn't it look like a cute little ghost? That black splodge?" I simply replied with, "No. It looks like mould."
Today was kinda boring. Just chillin' in a room, freezing for half the day, being denied the right to hot chip, shaking uncontrollably while playing my instruments and having a coughing fit which resulted in tears at the start of a band piece.
I'm having burritos for dinner tonight. We we we we so excited, guys.
I'm totes planning on having a Toradora! marathon tonight to celebrate the fact that this will be the first night in at least 2 weeks when I won't have a stress-induced mental breakdown that results in raised heartbeat, tears and loss of hair. No, I am not balding, I just tear some of my hair out. Maybe. I hope I'm not balding. That could be awkward. But, being bald would have some advantages. No knots, no hair brushing, I won't even have to worry about my hair sitting funny... Hm...
Those burritos were yum as.
Now, for chocolate pie. OM NOM NOM.
So, I read this random chick's really nice romantic post on a site and it made me go "n'aww". It makes one want to write a romantic post of their own. Except, then you realise you have nothing romantic to talk about, so instead, I shall talk about monkeys.
What is it about monkeys that we find so funny? I mean, seriously. Monkeys are always put into stories or movies purely for the LOLFactor. And it works. But, why do we find them so funny? I admit, I find monkeys funny, but I'm not quite sure why. Small ones like that one in Night At The Museum is funny because he's adorable, but they're not all adorable. Just food for thought.
Anyway, Toradora! time. Until next time, watch anime, eat burritos, avoid shower mould and respect monkeys.

Me Gusta la Música Japonesa, Tíos.
That's right. Spanish title, guys. For those of you who cannot speak Spanish, it says, "I like Japanese music, dudes," and it speaks the truth. I am getting into Japanese music a lot this year. Thanks to anime and Gojo. About two years ago, Tenuto Tuo would try and play foreign music to me and I'd be all, "I don't really like it... cause I can't understand it." Now Mr Tuo and Miss Gojo have gotten me into JPop/JRock/Europop :) I don't even care if I have no clue what they're singing about. I can hear the emotion in their voices, very often. I love their voices. I love the occasional time when I understand a word (OK, basically, I know when they say, "thank you" in a song). I love the music. I find myself dancing and humming and making weird noises that might sound like the words. It's good fun.
So, today is supposed to be Physics Day. My English Extension teacher hasn't gotten back to me about my draft, so I can't work on it. Well, that's a lie. I CAN work on it, but I really don't know what to do without his assistance. I doubt I'll know what to do WITH his assistance either, but whatever. It's Physics Day. It's not going so well. I am... very confused. Mmm, it's not going so well. And it's due Thursday. You know what else is due Thursday? That English Extension assignment I can't do. I will fail. Or get something in the C range, for sure. For both assignments. Wait. No, stop. No stressing! CALM, GIRL!
*cough* Moving on. I started watching Toradora! yesterday. Because that was smart. Anyway, I love it. I've only watched two episodes, but it's exactly the kind of anime I was looking for. BST FTW, guys. Basically, the main guy and chick like two other people. They are helping each other get with their respective people. But, obviously, they'll end up falling for each other. N'aww. It's good.
Now, yesterday I told y'all I was going to watch an episode of Lovely Complex. Mmm, yeah. About that... I watched episode 1... and did not like it much. The main chick's voice was very annoying. The animation was meh. The premise behind the show was still dumb. Tall girl and short guy. For some reason their height is a big deal. They both fell for people, tried to get those people, gave up on those people and let them be together all in one episode. No idea where the plot would go for the next 23 or so episodes. Plus, neither of the male characters where even slightly fangirl worthy. So, I gave up after one episode.
Maybe it would get better, but an anime really has to grab me pretty early on or I won't continue watching it. I remember the first time I watched Special A, when I was an Anime Noob. I thought it was weird. Very weird. I watched one episode and then, I believe I found Fruits Basket. I don't know what made me go back to Special A, but I'm glad I did, because I loved it. Something must have grabbed me.
I watched episode 1 of Ouran High School Host Club a couple of months ago, because it is SO popular and I kept reading about it. It didn't grab me, strangely. I should probably watch the sub instead of the dub that I watched. I just found it kinda strange and the voices annoyed me and I didn't really like the animation. I got kinda bored and I didn't find ANY of the MANY guys fangirl worthy. Mm, this is all quite an unpopular opinion, I'm sure, as many people who like the shoujo kinda things I watch, love this show... Oh well. I'll try it again sometime.
But for now, Toradora! I really like it. Definitely my kinda thing. These coming holidays I would like to finish both Toradora! and Durarara!! It's my plan. I doubt I'll finish them both, but I must finish one and watch more of the other. I have a feeling I'll finish Toradora! first.
Also, I really like the main guy. He is really quite cool. As is his pet parrot.

Anime: My Anti-Drug. Because When You're Addicted To Anime, You Can't Afford No Drugs.
I am in a really big anime mood right now. Oh, and Total Drama, heh. But anyway, anime. I have found this 30 Day Anime Challenge and have decided to do it all now. Mainly because I really felt like blogging but couldn't think of anything to write about...
Day 1 - Very first anime
Day 1 - Very first anime
- Death Note. First anime I ever fully watched. Sure, I might have seen tiny bits of Pokemon or whatever, but it's the only anime I'd properly watched. Ah, if only I knew how my life would be changed...
Day 2 - Favorite anime You’ve watched so far
- If you've read anything I've posted or spent well, any time with me, you'd probably know the answer. Fruits Basket :) Yeah, it's my favourite, indeed. It's had the biggest impact on me, that's for sure, and I'll always love it.
Day 3 - Your anime crush
- Hahaha. I like how it says that as if I only have one. Well, previous posts have my lists of anime crushes, so I'll put my all-time number one here. Kyo Sohma, guys.
![]() |
| Don't be sad, Kyo... :) |
Day 4 - Anime you’re ashamed you enjoyed
- I'm not really ashamed I enjoyed anime animes. If anything, I'd have to say La Corda D'Oro, because it turns out quite a few people didn't like it and there were things about it I didn't like, but I still got addicted. I'm not really ashamed though..
Day 5 - Anime character you feel you are most like (or wish you were)
- I feel like I'm a bit of a mixture of Kyo and Akito Sohma from Fruits Basket. I'd like to be Ayuzawa Misaki from Kaichou wa Maid-Sama because I like her feistiness and determination and the fact that she always works hard. And, besides, she gets Usui ;P
Day 6 - Most annoying anime character
- Momiji Sohma. This is definitely an unpopular opinion as he is dearly loved by many Fruits Basket fans, but hated by me.
![]() |
| Pretty sure he's crying because Kyo bashed him up a bit... Go Kyo! |
Day 7 - Favorite anime couple
- Hm. I guess I won't put KyoxTohru here, as they don't become a couple in the anime... Although, I do love their shipping in the anime. I would have to say, however, MisakixUsui. They are one awesome couple. They are called a Super Human Tag Team in the show and I just love them.

| BST, much? |
Day 8 - Most epic scene ever
- Hm. It's a tie between Episode 25 of Death Note, when L dies and the final episode of Death Note, when all is revealed and Light loses. Probably the last episode. Man, I was on the edge of my seat.
Day 9 - Saddest anime scene
- Episode 8 of Fruits Basket. Hatori's backstory. Tears galore.
Day 10 - Favorite slice of life anime
- I haven't watched many slice of life. Actually, I think the only one I've watched is Honey and Clover and I've only watched like, 7 episodes...
Day 11 - Favorite mech series
- I had to look up what a mech series is and I have watched none. Not planning on watching any either...
Day 12 - An ecchi picture from your favorite series
- Yeah. So, I am not really into ecchi so I has no pictures.
Day 13 - Cosplay of your ‘waifu’ or Husbando’
- I don't even get this one.
Day 14 - current (or most recent) anime wallpaper
- Well, the one I have right now is:
But my last one, which actually worked as a wallpaper was this:
Both made myself :)
Day 15 - Post a cute Neko-girl
- Yeah. I know none. Wait, I found a picture that isn't really neko-girl but it kinda is...
Day 16 - post a kigurumi cosplay of your favorite anime character
- I looked, but could not find any... Kigurumi cosplay is.. interesting though..
Day 17 - Favorite tsundere
- Ah, tsunderes. Ayuzawa Misaki from Maid-Sama. Or Kagura Sohma from Fruits Basket.
Day 18 - Something moe
- I love these guys. Not really sure if it is "moe" but the Google Image caption said so :P
Day 19 - Mandatory swimsuit post

| Competitive, much? |
Day 20 - Favorite shoujo anime
- Uh, Fruits Basket.
Day 21 - Best yandere character
- Well, by reading the TVTropes page, I was sure Kagura Sohma would be a yandere but she was not in the examples. Hm. Akito Sohma was, though. So, I say Akito and Kagura, whether she actually is one or not :P
Day 22 - Favorite boy’s love couple (or yuri couple, if you don’t like that sort of thing)
- Yeah... I'm not into boy's love or yuri, sorry.
Day 23 - Anime you think had the best, or most intrigueing art
- Um. Probably Death Note. It had the most realistic anime art I'd ever seen and, seeing as though it was my first anime (the one that stopped me thinking anime was stupid) it kinda showed me that my view of anime art wasn't all there was.
Day 24 - Favorite anime hero or heroine
- Hm. Hero... Probably Usui Takumi. He is pretty dang heroic. Or L.
Day 25 - Best anime villian
- Akito Sohma. I mean, many fans and characters do see him as a villainous type, but he's one of my favourites.
Day 26 - Your favorite harem anime
- Wikipedia cast Fruits Basket as a harem anime, but I wouldn't have thought so. Well, I've only watched two harem animes, La Corda D'Oro (I mean, dude. She hangs with 5 guys and they all fall in love with her) and Kanon, but I haven't seen much of it. The harem side of La Corda D'Oro kinda annoyed me but I kinda liked it in Kanon. Even though I couldn't decide who I shipped him with...
Day 27 - Favorite anime opening theme song
- Very close between InuYasha and Death Note...
Day 28 - Favorite pokemon
- I never really watched Pokemon and don't know all that much about it, but I've always had a soft spot for Squirtle.
Day 29 - Favorite school uniform
- Special A. It's about time that anime gets a mention in here...

Day 30 - Anime character you want to cosplay
- I am actually planning on cosplaying as Akito Sohma next year as my very first cosplay ever.
OMG. I JUST FOUND A 20 DAY FRUITS BASKET CHALLENGE. OM NOM NOM.

That's All There Is, There Isn't Anymore...
Just watched the "finale" of La Corda D'Oro, my latest anime obsession. The reason for the inverted commas, or whatever you call them, is that it's the final episode... Followed by a special episode... Followed by two other episodes in a sort-of-second-season-thing. Whatever, it was the final. Now, in this episode, it was time for the final selection, the members of the concours' final performance to see who wins the concours. It was cheesiest thing I've seen since, I don't know, the Fruits Basket manga finale, probably. But the thing is, it didn't make me gag. It made me cry. At least three times. Now, I am, for some unknown reason, feeling extremely emotionally unstable right now. Emotional instability+finale of an addictive anime+insane cheesiness+good music+character development of like, every character= not a good combination. The tears were flowing.
This made me think about my dislike of anime finales. Or just finales of any show. I mean, everyone hates it when your favourite TV show ends, but there's something else about it. When Fruits Basket, more especially the manga, ended, I felt so strange inside. It's completely stupid, because it's a manga, but I felt like I'd lived with those guys. I'd been through their good times and their bad times and seen them change and develop into better characters. Now everyone was reflecting on that and I could reflect too, because I'd been with them. Of course they were just drawings, but still.
It was like that for La Corda D'Oro. Everyone has some character development. While playing their final pieces, all impressive and cool pieces, each person reflect on how the central character, Hino Kahoko, had changed them and changed their music and made them, and their music, grow and improve. It was nice, but cheesy. And tearjerking, for me anyway. Hino herself was reflecting on how she had changed when listening to their performances (even though she was rehearsing in some classroom....) and how they had taught her so much. There were flashbacks and montages galore. I cried because, I felt I knew her. I guess I'd seen her start playing her violin, have issues, have good times, break her magic violin, quit the violin, go through a very depressing time and then realise how much she loved the violin, start playing again, albeit not very well, and just stand up again and not let herself be defeated. She is an anime character, but when I think about what I just typed, she's kinda inspirational. Of course, she did manage to make at least 4 boys fall in love with her in the process. I mean, at the end of the episode she got to have a performance from a cute trumpet-player (who has a self-confessed, obvious crush on her), an attractive pianist (who has a thing for her, but hasn't admitted it, even though it's OBVIOUS), an adorable (in a "n'aww, isn't that boy cute" kinda way) cellist (who kinda has a thing for her, but not quite as strong), an apparently (according to the female population of their school) attractive flautist (whose feelings are... questionable) and a flipping HOT violinist (who is SO in love with her, just hasn't totally realised/admitted it yet) play her a piece of music. I mean, what kinda girl gets 5 attractive guys to play her a piece of music because they all like her? Dude. Seriously. Anyway, this anime has kind of inspired me too, so I'm sad it's over. Even though tomorrow I'll watch the other 3 episodes...
It's been like this for all my favourite anime/cartoons (gotta throw a shout out to Total Drama, yo). The last couple of episodes of a series seem to feel so nostalgic to me. Even now, after seeing it like, 50 times, whenever I watch the alst couple of episodes (excluding the last one, as it is a travesty) of Total Drama World Tour, one of my favourite shows ever, I feel so nostalgic. I could recite the entire second-last episode to you while it was playing, but I still feel so nostalgic inside, and kinda get butterflies. It's so weird, the feeling that everything that you have delved into with you whole life, something you've invested SO much time and emotions and thought into is ending. I guess that's it. It's not really just watching a show. I, for one, get SO involved. I find favourite characters and read about them, look up pictures, create collages, talk about them to friends and family, whether they care (and they usually don't) or not. I rant about how much I hate my least favourite characters. I choose at least one attractive male character and fangirl like crazy, reading all about him, looking up a million pictures, ranting all the time and grinning whenever he's in a scene. I invest so many emotions into favourite characters and SO much emotions into my ships that it just feels... strange... to have it end, so suddenly.
Now, you might read this and say to your computer, "Oh, for goodness sake. It's just a freaking anime! Get a life and find some REAL people to invest your time and emotions into..." To you, I say, "Shut up." Yeah. This is how it feels for me, watching a show and, consequently, ending a show and I both hate it.. and love it..
The one thing I was disappointed in with this final episode was the lack of ROMANCE. With 4 guys in love with her, she didn't get with any of them! Especially not the guy I want her with. *sigh*
But, of all the montages she thought of, hers with Tsukimori, the aforementioned hot violinist, was the most romantic and shippy... Apparently they get together in the manga, so I need to read this manga, haha.
I guess this is my post's finale then. N'aww. Don't be sad. Don't cry. I know you've gotten attached to this post and invested time and emotions into it, but it's OK :)
